- Computer Science II (126.34) or Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A (126.62)
And two additional courses selected from:
- Fundamentals of Computer Science (126.32)
- Computer Science III (126.35)
- Digital Forensics (126.36)
- Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science (126.37)
- Game Programming and Design (126.38)
- Mobile Application Development (126.39)
- Robotics Programming and Design (126.40)
- Digital Design and Media Production (126.41)
- Digital Art and Animation (126.42)
- 3-D Modeling and Animation (126.43)
- Digital Communications in the 21st Century (126.44)
- Digital Video and Audio Design (126.45)
- Web Communications (126.46)
- Web Design (126.47)
- Web Game Development (126.48)
- Independent Study in Technology Applications (126.49)
- Independent Study in Evolving/Emerging Technologies (126.50)
Career and Technical Education (CTE)
- Coherent sequences of courses selected from at least 3 of the 16 career clusters
Students are Not Required to Take Computer Science Courses
Technology Applications courses and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses are elective credits. Even though districts are required to offer the courses listed above, Texas does not require students to complete courses from either of these areas in order to graduate from high school. Elective credits are described in the High School Graduation Requirements describes elective credits.
However, a local school district may choose to require their students to successfully complete a specified elective course in order to graduate.
