Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS)
Texas has established TEKS for computer science-related courses in two different sections of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 19 (Education), Part II (Texas Education Agency).

PEIMS Course Codes
Districts tell the Texas Education Agency which version of a course (Technology Applications or CTE) they are offering by submitting the course's PEIMS course code to TEA. Every course has a unique PEIMS course code, which you can find in the chart linked below.
Talk with your campus counselor, campus PEIMS clerk/registrar, or district PEIMS coordinator to find out the PEIMS number of the course your district is offering and you are teaching. Then be sure that you are teaching the TEKS for that course.
A district can give a course a name that makes sense in their course sequence, but that does not match the actual course title (as listed in the PEIMS course code list and in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 126 or 130. For example, a district may offer Pre-AP Computer Science (a district-given course name) and use the PEIMS code for Technology Applications Computer Science I (126.33). In this example, the teacher must teach the Computer Science I (126.33) TEKS.
