Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Endorsement
Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 74, Subchapter B, Graduation Requirements, 74.13 Endorsements
In addition to the requirements listed on this website's Endorsements page, the student must complete:
AND a coherent sequence of three credits from no more than two of the categories/disciplines listed below:
A coherent sequence of four credits in Computer Science, selected from:
OR
A coherent sequence of four or more credits in Career and Technical Education (CTE) that consists of at least two courses in the same career cluster, including at least one advanced CTE course (any course that is the third or higher in a coherent sequence). Courses may be selected from:
The final course in the CTE sequence must be obtained from one of the CTE career clusters listed in Chapter 130 Subchapter O. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
OR
Three credits in Mathematics:
Four credits in Science:

- Algebra II
- Chemistry
- Physics
AND a coherent sequence of three credits from no more than two of the categories/disciplines listed below:
A coherent sequence of four credits in Computer Science, selected from:
- Fundamentals of Computer Science (126.32)
- Computer Science I (126.33)
- Computer Science II (126.34)
- Computer Science III (126.35)
- Digital Forensics (126.36)
- Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science (126.37)
- Game Programming and Design (126.38)
- Mobile Application Development (126.39)
- Robotics Programming and Design (126.40)
- Independent Study in Technology Applications (126.49)
- AP Computer Science (126.62)
- IB Computer Science, Standard Level (126.63)
- IB Computer Science, Higher Level (126.64)
OR
A coherent sequence of four or more credits in Career and Technical Education (CTE) that consists of at least two courses in the same career cluster, including at least one advanced CTE course (any course that is the third or higher in a coherent sequence). Courses may be selected from:
- Chapter 130, including Subchapter K. Information Technology, which includes Principles of Information Technology (130.272), Computer Programming (130.276), Advanced Computer Programming (130.277), and Research in Information Technologies (130.278)
- Chapter 127 related to Career Development
- CTE innovative courses
The final course in the CTE sequence must be obtained from one of the CTE career clusters listed in Chapter 130 Subchapter O. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
OR
Three credits in Mathematics:
- Algebra II
- Two additional Mathematics courses for which Algebra II is a prerequisite, from a list of approved courses. This list includes Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science (126.62) and Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science (126.37)
Four credits in Science:
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Two additional courses, from a list of approved courses
